Travis Michael Bailey’s charcoal and graphite drawings capture the essence and beauty of the human form. Bailey combines his attention to detail and his understanding of light and texture to create drawings that are expressive and emotionally evocative. Although his subjects vary from Classical models to more contemporary, Bailey’s ability to represent the human spirit is steadfast. The depth of expressionism found in Bailey’s drawings attests to his prowess as an artist.” Quote from Eric Stengel, director of the Classical Arts Studio. A native of rural Missouri, Bailey obtained an AA, BFA and MFA in Paining and Drawing. His work has been featured in several galleries and museums including the Grenning Gallery in New York City, the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma and most recently the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana for their Contemporary Realism Biennial, an exhibition showcasing the best of contemporary realism. Bailey also was one of only a handful of American artists chosen to represent USA in the exhibition More Real than Real: Realism from the USA and Canada held in Melbourne, Australia. Bailey is represented in numerous collections nationally as well as internationally.
