So set aside relaxing time for yourself and be inspired in the art-filled OA Art Gallery, located directly across from the Kirkwood train station. The address is 101A W. Argonne Dr. Kirkwood, MO 63122.
Learn about the beauty of drawing, how drawing is the foundation of all art and how it can stand on its own as a beautiful medium in its own right! We will be drawing on white paper, using pencil/graphite and black charcoal.

For one of our class times, we will have the fun opportunity to sketch at the St. Louis Art Museum. We will also study several masterwork paintings, discussing the many decisions that were made as the artist began the work, and getting a glimpse into how the work was created.
We will then enjoy lunch at the Museum's beautiful Panorama Restaurant.
In this class Marie will help you with design and composition, seeing values and shapes to help you get a likeness, and handling of edges to complete and refine your drawing.
With individualized one-on-one instruction, Marie will guide you through to completion of your drawing, meeting you at your own level and bringing you to the next level and beyond.
You will be able to use your own reference photo.

Award winning artist, Marie Donato is offering a figure and portrait drawing class with a live clothed model at OA Art Gallery in charming downtown Kirkwood. The address is 101A W. Argonne Dr. 63122
Because drawing from life is always the best, this session we will have a live clothed model to create our drawings. We will be drawing on toned paper, using black and white charcoal. This method will help you greatly with understanding value.
Using toned paper instead of white paper helps you to learn how to get your values correct, getting your darkest darks and lightest lights. This technique is centuries old, going back to the Renaissance.
