I was born in West Texas and grew up on the 50,000 acre Snyder Ranch in the sand hills of South Eastern New Mexico. It was 15 miles from the nearest small town and my “best buddy” was my paint horse. My mother would pack me a biscuit with a slice of bacon, a cookie and canteen. I would be gone for the day shooting bank robbers, wolves, hostiles, and won the Cheyenne Frontier Days Steer Roping.
My vivid imagination was my inspiration and entry into my subject matter for Painting the American West. I like to paint the American West before the Great Western Migration changed it forever. I paint in oil and subjects include landscapes, western and Native Americans of the Northern and Southern Plains tribes in their “Time of the Horse”. They all are the passage of man through a landscape. My wife and I currently make my home in Arizona and I continue to paint daily. My art is shown in several noted galleries and numerous invitational art exhibits. My education includes Bachelor of Science - New Mexico State University Teaching Certificate - Eastern New Mexico University Graduate Study - UCLA Scottsdale Artist School - noted instructors |
